Project Number One: Rearrange the whole house

I literally woke up one morning and decided I had too much unused space in my house. The kids are so cramped in their rooms and we needed somewhere to expanded. I don't know about some of you, but I never use my living room and I decided it was time to use it up.

Below is our living room with couches. If I were smart I would have taken before and after pictures. However, I did not think of it until just now. Anyway, the living room has never had a couch in it, it was just a pretty room that I would tell my kids to stay out of.

Now we have a new room for FHE and family scriptures. Love it!

Next we have the family room or should I say it WAS a family room. We converted this puppy into our school room. The cut out where the computer is use to be the TV.

The rest of the family room was converted into the school room. It isn't completely done. The table and chairs are in the garage being updated with a splash of paint. We will need to shampoo the carpet. Move a couch and you see how dirty it is.

(Now let me explain a little. Having the school room upstairs is great but I needed more flexibility. If I want to throw in a batch of laundry, I am right there, it's the white door in the hallway. If I need to start lunch, guess what, I am right there. If I need to change a diaper, right there. If we have an art project, it's easy clean up. If we want to experiment with science, we can use the tile. If the kids want to go outside for a break, easy access. If someone is at the door, I am right there. It also offers more lighting and a cooler room.)

Our private library.

My husband has always wanted a library in the house. John loves having all the books in one place. His birthday is in a week and so I decided to give him a glimpse of his someday real library. Happy Birthday babe!!

The school room is now the TV/playroom. It is also still a work in progress. The TV has been babysitting the kids while I rearrange the whole house. Thank you TV!

Project Number Two: Getting a picture of Canon smiling

This is the most frustrating task. The minute Canon sees the light he stops smiling. We managed to get a few half smiles in.

First attempt was Jax tickling his chubby cheeks and Canon's head slightly turned away from the distracting flash.

Second attempt, Eyrlin. It didn't go so well. Canon was more interested in her fingers.

Third attempt, daddy. Now John is hilarious so you would think this would be a solid smile but nope. As you can see the flash was especially bright and distracting.

Final attempt, Mom. I think in general he thought, "Mom, you are freakin' hilarious trying so hard to get me to smile." I finally get a little smile on camera and it is so goofy but it will have to do.

Tober's have a happenin' house. So come on over and get Canon to smile long enough to get a good picture or rearrange some furniture, whatever, we're flexible.

I am already trying to drum up a new project but my husband is totally resisting. I have even given him options.

1. Finish painting the upstairs
2. Shampoo all carpets in this house
3. Potty Train Broden
4. Build me a castle

I am not sure where all my energy has come from but I will take it!

Shouldn't "Build me a castle" be first? Good for you having all that energy and sometimes tv babysitter is just what you need to feel accomplished!=)

Oh Kathy.. I just love you! You are one amazing woman. I'm starting projects at home too, but it's a bit more than re-arranging furniture.. I hope I can steal some of your energy!
