But, here I am now, cub committee chair. I have never felt so overwhelmed by what I first thought would be a cake walk. Last week, I have received 12 boxes, been on the phone for about 6 hours, went to 2 den meetings, trained 1 person, spent 4 hours reading, and spent about 20 hours on the computer. This week I will have round table, a visit to the scouting office, pack meeting, and another 5 hours on the computer. My main obsession is getting organized, as most of you know.
However, my husband is on cloud nine watching his wife dive-in to his passion of scouting. I use to think all his talk about eagle scout/seven palm was boring now, I am interested. John quickly went to the garage dusted off the old scout box, and well as you can see above he was in heaven.
So, hats off to all you scouting individuals because this ain't no cake walk. There is lots to learn fo' sure!

Oh Kathy! That is a toughy, I got to be a Bear Den Leader when my oldest was 4 (I had 3 and was expecting #4). I got to do it for 2 years and I learned A LOT. Now my oldest is a Bear and I'm so glad I know how to do the Cub Scout thing! You'll love it :)
I thought that you were suppose to get out of callings like that since you have the connections with the bishoprich. :)
That is what you get for having boys. :0 It's good though right, now when you boys start scouting you will be a pro. :)
Yup. Scouting is tough. It's like a crazy religion in and of itself. I always find it funny that at leadership training, everyone is doing the crazy cheers and stuff depite the fact that no little boys are there. Weird.
You'll have it all down pat in no time. Although I think the Lord waits to give us a new calling until we actually feel like we are getting the hang of our current one. As soon as you feel that way, watch out!!
