Jax - " Mom, where do the tadpoles come from that makes babies?"
This was the question of the night last night, and I about died. My mind was racing or scrambling for something great to tell him. However, I was completely distracted by my husbands laughter in the kitchen.
Mom - "I think that's a good question for your DAD!"
Who's laughin' now big guy? But then the thought came to me, where did he hear this from. I was ready to be angry at the person who was finding freedom in sharing with my child.
Mom - "Where did you hear this?"
Jax - "I read it in the science book."
Mom - "Where is it, let me see it?"
Jax - "Wait. Never mind."
Mom - "No, what are you thinking?"
Jax - " I'm too embarrassed to say."
Mom - "Say what?"
Jax - "Where the tadpoles come from?"
Mom - "No REALLY, where do you think they come from?" testing the waters with fear
Jax - "I think dad has them."
Mom - "Why is that embarrassing?"
Jax - "Because I didn't remember."
Mom - inquiring carefully, "And where does dad have them?"
Jax - "I don't know ask dad, maybe on his shelf."

I LOVE IT!!! I'm so scared for the real questions, just not sure I'm ready for our kids to be that grown up yet...
That is a cute conversation. You and John make cute kids - tell John to get his tadpoles off the shelf and make another baby :)
I think lots of daddies keep their tadpoles on the shelf, especially when life gets busy.

That's a good story. I'm always afraid as a primary teacher that kids are going to misunderstand what I say and share some wild story at home. So good think he says he got his info from a book, not his primary teacher, right?
I always keep my tadpoles on the shelf...it's the best place to keep them.
