This summer I wanted to do things the kids wanted to do. So we sat down as a family and talked about all the fun things we wanted to do. I named it our Summer Bucket List because 2009's summer will only come once. Here is our list:
Scooter ALL day long (Rylon)
Play at the Farnsworth's (Jax) friends of ours
Go to the Park (Eyrlin)
Go inside a museum (Jax)
Play Raven Rabbits (Eyrlin)
Go to McDonald's (Rylon)
Shark Reef (Jax)
Go to the Mall (Eyrlin)
Go to the Library (Jax)
Go camping (Rylon)
Learn about penguins, cows, and lions (Rylon)
Learn about Scientists (Eyrlin)
Learn about being healthy (Jax)
Make Cookies (Eyrlin)
Learn about sharks (Rylon)
Make potions (Jax)
Learn how to mop (Rylon)
Learn how to start a campfire (Jax)
Plant flowers (Eyrlin)
Learn about intestines (Jax)
Learn how to grocery shop (Jax)
Learn how to paint walls (Rylon)
Learn about the Hoover Dam and go there (Jax)
Go to the beach (Eyrlin)
Learn how to write a check (Jax)
I have a feeling they are going to catch on, and we will see Disneyland on these lists in the future.

That's awesome. You better let us know when you go do some of that stuff!! Have you heard about the train at Boulder City? I guess it goes around Hoover Dam or something? I just finished making a "I'm bored" bottle with ideas to do. Should be fun.
I hope Jax has fun learning about intestines and how to write checks. Tell him I need a few potions, does he have like a catalog I can look thru?
I love it that Eyrlin wants to go to the mall! It all sounds like fun. Good idea mom.
When Jax get's to write a check does he also get to cash it too? Also if your kids want to learn how to mop send them my way I have a few floors to mop myself.
I love this list! It looks like Rylon is your animal lover. I want to do some of the things at that list myself. :) At least they are all things that can actually be done.
That list is priceless! I'm totally stealing your friend Heather's idea about the boredom bottle. Mine is a bit outdated. We made it when the kids were preschoolers.

What a great idea to ask them what they want to do & journal it! I am totally stealing that idea! And my kids DID ask to go to D-Land & were ticked cuz our annual passes don't work all summer! SOOOOO spoiled living 1 hour away from there! Of course, you aren't too far away either!
