(Hammer, my stress remedy)So, let's have a conversation about S -T -R -E -S -S......
Don't act like you never get stressed because I know you do. It is a very rare occasion that I let things get to me but this last month was crazy.
We all process our stress differently, right? I really don't know how to handle it, I guess that's why and how I classify it as stress. John usually tells me to call my sister Hammer (aka Mary) and get a pedicure, it has always worked. I think a good conversation with someone you trust, in a relaxed setting, is MY perfect remedy.
So, now imagine that your perfect remedy is 4 hours away. Hmmmm....... I really needed that one on one, face to face conversation with my feet dangled in some soapy, warm water.
Well, Sunday night, I finally asked my hub for a blessing. Monday was so, so. Tuesday was bla. Today I feel great. I can't believe I waited so long to ask for a blessing, what was I thinking.
Honestly, I woke up this morning feeling extremely humbled by this experience. I can't believe it took me a month to figure out it wasn't Hammer that was going to provide me with comfort but the Lord. Sometimes we need to be reminded of the basic principles that we've been taught. I think when we know something we put it aside, like filing it away. But knowing is acting on it, using it, and DEPENDING on that knowledge. That's how you REALLY know!!
So what was I stressed about? Seriously, I really can't remember what started it all. I think I just wanted some good one on one conversation and a pedicure. I'm really missin' great friendships.

Oh Kathy! I would get a pedicure with you if we lived closer :) I could use one too, this has been quite the week for me too. I think it's the Holidays looming and I have so much I want to do and so much I have to do. . . Priorities is the word. Great idea to get a blessing, and excellent post, it's put ideas into my head. . .

I hear ya! Anytime a Pedi is in need....I'm you're girl. I enjoy a nice relaxing soak and girl talk! Glad to hear you're less stressed now!
Oh, I miss pedi's with the girls as well! Why did you move away? I had the very same experience one year in college. I was having a horrible day, tried to call my mom, and couldn't get ahold of her. A feeling came over me and I heard the words "I'm right here. You can get ahold of me." It was an eye opening experience to realize that I had in fact been going to another source over Him. We need those other great sources because of their own wisdom and experience, but I will never put anyone before my Lord again!
