The Quote of the Conference

Last conference I just could not stop thinking about "Find joy in the journey"

This conference I can't stop thinking about "Your future is as bright as your faith."

Lately, I have been a dweller of the past. I have had to make a conscious effort everyday to make sure I have no past to dwell on. I HATE offending people, speaking unkindly about others or hurting feelings. John will be my witness that I am probably harder on myself then the person I have offended or hurt. I just love and care a lot about people and more importantly their feelings. We are children of God and we should treat each other with nothing less then the respect of that title.

Ok so back to "Our future is as bright as our faith." I think when people become so hard on themselves with their "past" that they can easily forget the atonement and how it applies. I know from personal experience that the harder I am on myself the harder it is to feel the spirit. The gifts of the spirit are love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. Resentment, hurt, frustration, harshness and then goodness, gentleness, peace, joy can not coexist together.

I guess what I am saying is I have to be a "bright future looker" and not a "past dweller". I have so much to look forward to in life, but if I take up all my time looking at the past I will miss it. I have a great love for life in general, and I want to enjoy every minute of my days ahead.

So my thought is let the Savior take on the hurt of the past and find joy in the journey ahead. After all, Your future is as bright as your faith.

Well put Kathy! I am a past dweller AND a future "dreader". I need to put these ideas into practice too.

I am trying to appreciate "Enjoy the journey." Somedays are harder than others, but it is so nice to have the gospel to help us remember what is truly important!
