I hate surprises! I can't pin-point why but I just do. I just prefer to know what's going on at all times so I can plan accordingly.
Well my birthday is this month and John wont tell me the plan, if there is one. I worry about this a lot, probably my biggest stress right now is not knowing "the plan".
Last night he told me he needed a few minutes on the computer to check "something" out. Hmmmm.... interesting... check something out, huh!! I knew it was something for my birthday. I had to act casual though, "Oh that's nice, why are you telling me, whatever, I mean do you think I care, cause I don't. Your a big boy, do you tell me when your going to the bathroom, I'm so sure. I mean whatever, so go do your thing, whatever that thing is, good luck, I mean whatever." Totally casual about it.
The whole time he was upstairs I just kept thinking I can't wait to check the history, I HAVE to know what it is he is getting me. When he comes back downstairs I will casually go up and........
John: "You want me to shut the computer down?"
What!!!!! I need to know what he has been looking up. "Sure, I don't need the computer. Why would I need the computer? I mean who looks at the computer this late. I mean seriously, whatever. Turn it off, don't turn it off, it doesn't hurt me either way. Whatever!" Totally casual.
I could not sleep all night!! I was up till midnight stressed about what the big present would be this year. Next thing I know his alarm went off and he pressed snooze. Five minutes later alarm and snooze. Another five minutes and the same thing. Another five.....
I politely said, "GET OUT OF BED, READ YOUR SCRIPTURES AND GO TO WORK, SERIOUSLY I AM TRYING TO SLEEP!!" Very casual.
When the door shut, I was up! I quickly ran to the computer turned it on and began the search. Are you ready.....
Ready?

That totally sounds like something I would do!
Too funny...maybe you'll have two new cars. Can't wait to find out what the surprise really is.
You are so funny...I would be thrilled if Jared ever surprised me with a gift. Here's how it usually goes for us: "So Chelle, what do you want for your b-day?" Then I'll say, "Um, maybe some silver earrings." Then a few days later he'll say, "Hey! JC Penney's is having a 50% off sale. Let's go get your earrings." :) Not exactly the most romantic, but he does excel in other areas....
