So I am the worst tooth fairy ever. Why? I forgot.

Jax came into the room at 5:30 AM. "Mom, the tooth fairy never came."

"(Oh CRA....pple!!!) I wonder why, hmmmm. Go back to bed it's still dark maybe she hasn't had a chance yet. She might have a lot of teeth to pick up."

"OK."

I, frantically, looked all over the house for $1. Nothing. All I had was $5. Jax comes into my room, and tells me he can't sleep because I am making too much noise (dang it). He then goes downstairs and turns on his Saturday morning cartoons.

I thought to myself what a perfect opportunity to sneak into his room and switch it out.

I go into his room, lift the pillow and the tooth isn't there. I went ahead and wrote him a little "sorry I was late" note with the $5 and left it under his pillow. I was then on the hunt for the tooth. FOUND IT! (CRA...PPLE) It was sitting next to him on the couch. I went over and sat on it. I distracted him a little and then suggested he go get his pillow, upstairs. He went up to his room while I hid the tooth. Jax comes downstairs with nothing other then his pillow.

ME: "So did the tooth fairy leave anything under your pillow yet."
JAX: "No my tooth isn't even under my pillow."
ME: "Really? Where is it?"
JAX: "Your sitting on it."
ME: "I am?" standing up
JAX: "I think it's stuck to your fanny."
ME: turning around, "NOPE."
JAX: "Great mom, now it's lost." (looking for the tooth)
ME: "That is weird. Hmmmm. Maybe you should go check your bed again."

(up the stairs he went)

JAX: "Mom, the tooth fairy left me $5 and a note. I thought you said the tooth fairy only gave out $1."
ME: "I think she gives out $5 for your first tooth, but I AM SURE next time it will only be $1"

So I guess this is our new tradition, $5 for the first tooth and $1 for each tooth after that.

Awesome! You have the best story-telling ability. Can I lose some teeth in your house? How much does the tooth fairy give for a root canal?

Funny! Good quick thinkin'. Kids are great at remembering the things you don't want them to, aren't they?

I've been there too. Then the tooth fairy will end up leaving $1 in pennies, nickles and whatever else I can find:)

I think I'm the president of that club, I think I forgot Jeffey's tooth 3 nights in a row, he still did not get five dollars though! I love the conversation you had with the dear boy and the new family tradition!
